"Living Landscape"

"Living Landscape" is a painting composed entirely out of succulent plants. This framed piece is 3.5' x 4.5' planted image....and will be displayed on an easel. Inspired by Monet's seaside landscapes, "Living Landscape" illustrates sky, water, a cottage, and foreground all with plants. Beautiful from afar, you can see the image, but fun to explore up close and see all the beautiful succulents I used in this piece. Over 3,000 individual plants are used featuring more than 40 varieties. The frame and box that the plants are set in, is made entirely out of PVC, painting the frame with bronze and gold gives it a gilded touch.

ArtPrize® is a radically open, independently organized international art competition and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. For 19 days, three square miles of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, become an open playing field where anyone can find a voice in the conversation about what is art and why it matters. Art from around the world pops up in every inch of downtown, and it’s all free and open to the public. It’s unorthodox, highly disruptive, and undeniably intriguing to the art world and the public alike.
